Photographing art shows is a fun time. All the people crowding around trying to get a good look at the art makes for interesting frames. For the past year, I’ve been working with Muzeo just up the street from where I live in Anaheim. As an art teacher, I have a ton of exposure to different kinds of art. I can say that I was literally stunned by some of the hyperrealistic art in ¡Cuarenta!, A 40-Year Survey of Abel Alejandre . Not only is his art awe inspiring, I found his voice to be one of his strongest aspects. His perspective on latino culture and history is superb. I would consider his art to be premier level On the other end of the spectrum in the main building, Clark Silva curated an excellent showing of classic movie posters called “Painted For The Pictures”. I got to shadow him while he led the VIP groups through the gallery. It’s crazy how interesting things can be when you have the right person doing the talking. Huge thanks to Don Lane, Carol, Samar and John for the invite. This spring show is not one to miss. You need to get there ASAP!
